Next Instruction Weekends...
  Snowcraft one and two

Snowcraft one is an entry level course, including techniques for use of an ice axe and crampons. Snowcraft one provides an opportunity for the attendee to attend the slush summit later in the year.  It is a pre-requisite for moving to the snowcraft two course. Practice days between courses/trips are recommended.

Snowcraft two is a more in depth look at rope work and snow anchors. Aimed for those interested in a more technical mountaineering sense, but worth a look for interests sake.  the day is also good practice for those who have attended the snowcraft one course.

Big Day out - Practice days for those having attended the snowcraft course/ courses are planned for the 8 or 9th September and 6 or 7th October. These days are a good opportunity to practice skills and meet other like-minded members. why not make a weekend stay of it at the lodge.
Slush summit  The annual slush summit is planned for late November. Persons who have attended a snowcraft one course (as a minimum) and who are familiar with the techniques for use of crampons and ice axes are welcome to attend. Date to be confirmed.

IMPORTANT: Registration for any of the courses is mandatory and must be made NO LATER THAN FIVE DAYS PRIOR to the course date. Registering late places additional pressure on the instruction co-ordinator and gear officers, so no applications can be accepted after that date.  Instruction information and personal detail forms will be sent to each attendee for completion and return prior to the course start.  Gear will also need to be arranged by each attendee by contracting the climbing equipment officer.
